DAVENPORT – Memorial services and Mass of Christian Burial for Humberto L. “Squeaky” Jimenez, 58, of Davenport, will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Inurment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, with his mother. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Mr. Jimenez pass away Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Bettendorf Healthcare Center following complications of diabetes.

Born on June 16, 1952, Humberto Lionel Jimenez was the son of Humberto G. and Theadora Saldivar Jimenez. He was raised by several aunts and uncles following his mother’s death when he was five years old.

Prior to his retirement due to illness, he worked as a social worker for Family Resources, Inc. – Wittenmyer, for over 30 years.

Survivors include his former wife; daughters Ellen (Cody) Meyer, Cedar Rapids, Dara Jimenez, Washington, D.C., and Valerie Jefferson, Eldridge; granddaughter Lydia Meyer, Cedar Rapids; sisters Gloria Minor, Sterling-Rock Falls, IL, Janet Reyes, Davenport, and brothers Richard (Melinda) Jimenez and Michael (Barb) Reyes, both of Davenport. His parents preceded him in death. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is handling services.

 Rhonda Sedgewick was in touch with Humberto while he was undergoing medical treatment. He had diabetes and wound up on dialysis. As his condition worsened he decided to discontinue treatment and passed away from complications of diabetes. He was survived by two daughters.
